On Saturday, October 14th, MOSES will be participating in a statewide WISDOM action with a goal of knocking on 600 doors. This will be the start of our Integrated Voter Engagement campaign and we will be focused on reaching those who are historically left out of the process – renters, people of color, students, and low-income workers.
We are in need of community members to volunteer and be part of this door-to-door outreach effort. Will you help make a difference in your community? Volunteers will be paired up and given a script to follow as they have brief conversations with selected individuals at their doorstep, asking them about their issues and concerns and also seeking support for MOSES issues. Specifically, crimeless revocation and T.A.D. (Treatment Alternative Diversions) funding. We will also be encouraging people to get informed about the voting process and to make sure they are registered.
Volunteers, along with MOSES members, will visit the Bram’s Addition Neighborhood. Which is on the Southside of Madison off of Park street. Additional rounds of volunteers will revisit this same neighborhood twice more in the coming year.
Prior to doing the canvass, we will meet at St Marks church (605 Spruce Street) @ 11:30 am for a brief 20 minute prep sesssion. And our canvass will run from Noon until 2 pm.
Would you like to help? If you are interested, please contact the MOSES office (firstname.lastname@example.org) to let us know!
