What do you feel are the most important factors for creating safety for everyone in our schools, especially our Black students who are more likely to be responded to in ways which lead them into the school to prison pipeline?
MOSES Racial Justice for All Children and Public Safety task forces are engaging the MOSES community in this facilitated process to help us explore together how to invest in the well-being of youth and equitable opportunities for them to thrive, while ensuring safety in our public schools.
We understand that MOSES members have various levels of familiarity with some of the views and feelings of impacted students and with the research. To address this we are providing the background resources linked below for your review prior to the meeting. There is substantial content available at the internal links found at this link, so please review materials in advance to familiarize yourself with the research.
We will use a Quaker practice for posing a query for reflection and inclusive sharing. For more information check the following links:
Please have paper & pencils handy if you would like to jot down your thoughts before speaking.
Organizers sincerely hope our shared journey of learning from one another will help MOSES advocate effectively for improved safety and well-being of all children in our community.
